From noon on Monday 23 March to July 2020, religious gatherings throughout the State of Tasmania were subject to significant restrictions due to COVID-19 pandemic impacts. Since July, these restrictions are gradually being eased. It is anticipated that a certain level of restrictions will remain in place for some time yet due to the Public Health emergency. Please see the Tasmanian Government's latest advice on these impacts here.
The Tasmanian Council of Churches (TCC) is
a fellowship of Christian Churches in Tasmania committed to the promotion of
Christian unity. The TCC is an autonomous body with policies decided by
the six Member
Churches. We serve to further
Christian unity as the Churches minister in a variety of ways, and the collaborative efforts of our Member Churches and Associated Member Bodies. For example, following the January 2013 Bushfires in
Tasmania, we formalised the TCC Emergencies Ministry.
The TCC is affiliated with the National Council of Churches in Australia (NCCA), through which we maintain good relations with other State ecumenical bodies around Australia, the Christian Conference of
Asia (CCA) and the World Council of Churches (WCC).
